Silber beim PRIX EUROPA: Täter in Uniform – Polizeigewalt in Deutschland (Radio-Dokumentation)
Aktuelle Entwicklung zum Beitrag: Die Radio-Dokumentation „Täter in Uniform – Polizeigewalt in Deutschland“ des SWR-Futures von Marie von Kuck wurde am 19. Oktober 2018 in der Sparte „Radio Aktuelles“ mit „Silber“ – also mit dem zweiten Platz der 15 nomienierten Beiträge dieser Sparte des PRIX EUROPA 2018 (übrigens des größten trimedialen Festivals in Europa für Fernseh-, Hörfunk- und Online-Produktionen) – ausgezeichnet. Wir beim V.V freuen uns, dass wir bei der Produktion des Radio-Futures behilflich sein konnten und fühlen uns damit gleichzeitig ausgezeichnet!
Zum Inhalt:

Die Liste der Vorwürfe ist lang: Anschläge auf friedliche Bürger, Misshandlungen in Gewahrsamszellen, sogar Totschlag und Mord im Dienst.“ So die Ankündigung der Sender.
In diesem Beitrag kommen Opfer von Polizeigewalt zu Wort, Fachleute beleuchten die Problematik und ein aktiver Polizist bricht das berüchtigte Schweigen: er spricht über strukturelle Probleme in der Organisation „Polizei“. Letzteres ist das, worüber VICTIM.VETO seit 2011 berichtet. Was zudem ganz deutlich wird, ist die Angst der Betroffenen (Opfer wie Polizisten) sich über das Thema überhaupt zu äußern: hier stellen sich dennoch alle Betroffenen – wissenschaftlich ausgedrückt – aktiv einer sekundären und tertiären Viktimisierung entgegen. Und dies unabhängig davon, ob die Bundesregierung Deutschlands im Jahr 2018 einen Handlungsbedarf zur Einsetzung einer unabhängigen Ermittlungsstelle für solche Fälle sieht oder nicht.

New developments regarding the broadcast: The radio investigation “Offenders in uniform – Police brutality in Germany” “Offenders in uniform – Police brutality in Germany” by the German SWR-Futures channel by Marie von Kuck was awarded silver – second in line out of 15 nominees in the genre “Best Radio current affairs of the Year” of PRIX EUROPA 2018 (the greatest trimedial festival in Europe for television, radio and online-productions). We at V.V are happy to have helped with Radio-Futures‘ production and feel honoured at the same time!
Content: “The more alarming a situation, the louder the outcry for strong security bodies. But what if police officers become a threat themselves? The list of accusations is long: Assaults on peaceful citizens, abuse in custody, even manslaughter and murder on duty.” says the channel.
In this broadcast victims of police brutality are given a voice, experts highlight the issue and an active officer breaks the notorious silence: he speaks of structural problems in the organization: “Police”. The latter is what VICTIM.VETO has been reporting on since 2011. The fear of those involved of outing themselves in relation to the topic remains significant: In this case all parties involved – in scientific terms – actively oppose a secondary or tertiary victimization. This occurs independently of whether the Federal Republic of Germany sees a need of action for the use of an independent investigation office in 2018 for such cases or not.
